Environmental scientist and mother of two, Hannah Fraser is to fight the by-election in the Abbey division of Shrewsbury on 1st March.

Dr Charles West, chair of Shrewsbury Liberal Democrats said:

"We are very fortunate that Hannah has offered to represent the people of Abbey. She is hard-working and conscientious. Though her academic and work experience she has a broad and practical understanding of environmental issues. She is part of the local community and she cares about people. I have no doubt that Hannah will be an excellent councillor."

Councillor Miles Kenny said:

"It will be vital that Abbey has a representative who has a distinctive voice and who believes in fighting for you.

"I first met Hannah Fraser at UMACC where she rapidly took on responsibility because she believed that community led plans were the only way to really influence the way we all live. She delivered leaflets, helped....... And then became it's secretary. She's totally committed.

"Hannah uses and will be using many of the services that you all depend on. Nurseries, Schools, health care, hospitals, play areas, shops and much more. Who better to represent you than a young enthusiastic women rooted in your community?"

Hannah Fraser will be the Liberal Democrat candidate for the Abbey division of Shropshire Unitary Council, and for Abbey ward of Shrewsbury Town Council. A full list of candidates standing is available here.
