Scrap the Tip Booking System. Petition to Shropshire Council.

Over the last few months we’ve spoken with many people in our community who are frustrated by the decision of Shropshire Conservative’s decision to introduce a booking system for Household Recycling Centres across the county.
This policy is a classic case of using a sledgehammer to crack a nut. The aim is to stop a handful of people from out of the county using our service. The reality is thousands of ordinary Salopians are inconvenienced on a regular basis for little benefit.
More than just that, we’re seeing an uptick in fly-tipping. No wonder given that the County Council has a dismal record on the issue, with whole years going by without a single Fixed Penalty Notice issued for fly-tipping.
Liberal Democrat councillors are determined to fight this and restore common sense to Shropshire Council.
