A cut on duty for cider, beer and whisky has been toasted by Christine Tinker.

Wednesday's Budget included plans to cut cider and whisky duty by 2% and beer duty by 1p per pint, ensuring a better deal for consumers, producers and local pubs throughout Shrewsbury and our surrounding villages.

Christine Tinker said:

"This is great news for our area and will make a big difference to our pub industry. Pubs have been under pressure for a long time now and hopefully this will encourage tourists and locals alike to drop in to their local for a pint.

"Tourism is big business in our area and local pubs and inns bring lots of money and jobs to the area.

"This is thanks to the Liberal Democrats in government pushing for a stronger economy and a fairer society where local businesses can thrive."
